What it has to do with Teabaggers is we wonder how many of those conservative North Dakotans want government off their backs when it comes to paying their fare share of taxes yet scream for the government to come help and spend a billion, like they already have, to save their homes.

Why are so many people completely clueless? Employement always lags after recessions end. This is an economic and historical fact. So after the worst recession since the great depression, caused by W. and Repub. policies, of course its not just going to turn rosey over night.

Brianb, presidents are mostly held responsible for the budgets that come out of Washington because they have veto power over anything that congress does. It then takes a 2/3 vote to override.

hs231, the facts are that Democratic presidents have better economic performances than Republican presidents, look it up. Reagan did better then most Republicans but he increased the national debt, percentage wise, more then any other president, he quadrupled the national debt again by cutting taxes.

buckeyenut. Read the link above. Clinton increased taxes on the wealthy in his first year when there was still a Democratic congress. This lead to balanced budgets and 22 million new jobs. Now Republicans claim that raising taxes will lead to more deficits and a worsening economy.
